USANA On List of Best Places to Work for Fifth Consecutive Year

SALT LAKE CITY, Aug. 1, 2013 -- USANA Health Sciences Inc., a global nutritional supplements company, has been named one of America's "Best Places to Work" by Outside magazine for a fifth consecutive year, ranking No. 18 out of the Top 100 companies in the country. The complete sixth-annual list will be published online on Aug. 1 on OutsideOnline.com. It spotlights companies that offer the best perks, including those with the "Best Office Culture," "Fitness-Friendly" facilities and the most liberal "Flex Time" policies.

"We make sure our employees have everything they need to lead healthy, productive lives by providing them with benefits such as a fully equipped gym, wellness consulting, monthly massages and an employee cafe stocked with affordable, fresh food," said USANA Chief Communication Officer Dan Macuga. More than 600 USANA employees in Utah enjoy impressive workplace benefits, including an annual profit-sharing program, free monthly company health products, excellent health and life insurance packages and regular health fairs. USANA's efforts have also earned it standings on Utah Business magazine's "Best Companies to Work in Utah" and PR News' list of "Top Places to Work in PR".

Outside's "Best Places to Work" project celebrates the innovative companies setting a new standard for a healthy work-life balance. The list was compiled with the help of the Outdoor Industry Association and Best Companies Group. The yearlong selection process began with an outreach effort that identified a wide range of nonprofit and for-profit organizations with at least 15 employees working in an office in the United States. Participating companies were sent confidential employee-satisfaction surveys and employer-questionnaires to collect information about benefits, compensation, policies, job satisfaction, environmental initiatives, and community outreach programs. The experts at the Best Companies Group then analyzed the results and selected the companies that best enable employees to pursue active lifestyles while also supporting their social and environmental contributions.
