SOUTH NORWALK, Conn., June 19, 2012 -- North American Power, the energy company that has saved its customers millions of dollars on their electric bills while greening the power grid, was presented with two Gold Stevie® Awards in The 10th Annual American Business Awards last night in New York City. The Connecticut-based retail energy supplier took top honors for Energy Company of the Year, while Co-Founder and CEO Kerry Breitbart was named Energy & Utilities Executive of the Year.

Breitbart was recognized for his leadership in the creation of a platform that brings renewable energy to the masses, gives back to charity, and delivers the power to earn through a referral-based business opportunity. North American Power's award for Energy Company of the Year highlights the rapid growth of the energy supplier within the $70 billion retail energy and gas industry in the short two years since it started service.

Upon receiving both awards, Breitbart noted, "It is such an honor to be in the company of businesses that are creating jobs, innovating new technologies and finding ways to give back as they grow. These are the tenants of our business, and we look forward to a very bright future for our employees, independent representative and customers."

The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. More than 3,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories. Companies as diverse as Apple, Chipotle Mexican Grill, The Coca-Cola Company, Delta Air Lines, Ford Motor Company, ING DIRECT, NASCAR, Overstock.com, and YouSendIt are among those recognized.
