Mannatech Creates Global Scientific Advisory Board

April 28, 2016 -- Texas-based Mannatech, a global health and wellness company, has assembled a global scientific advisory board to provide support for the development and review of its products.

The firm has appointed nine third-party scientists to the advisory board who will be tasked with driving innovation in new product development and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards.

Alfredo Bala, Manatech's chief executive officer and president, said: “The members of Mannatech's global scientific advisory board are committed to science and the truth that their research and findings bring. “Mannatech has built its worldwide business on science-backed product technology and this group will help us continue that tradition and take us into new, transformational areas of health and wellness, while ensuring we stay on the path of scientific proof and validation.”

Mannatech's senior global wellness director Dr Steve Nugent has been appointed as chairman of the board, while the company's director of clinical research and scientific affairs Dr Rolando Maddela will serve as the board's executive secretary.

Dr Nugent brings over 38 years of experience in the health and wellness industry to the board, having joined Mannatech in 1995. He said: “It is a great honour for me to be asked to lead an independent board of experts to help continue Mannatech's tradition of producing products validated by science.”

Dr Nugent and Dr Maddela will be supported in their roles by Tait Switzer, vice president of research and development at Mannatech.
