September 23, 2015 -- The controller of Ava Anderson Non Toxic was arrested for stealing merchandise from the company and charged with felony embezzlement.
Robert Anderson, who is not related to the family who owns the company, allegedly shipped Ava Anderson Non Toxic products to a store he owns in Key West, Florida, where they were relabeled and sold under a different name. Police, who were notified by the company's owner after uncovering evidence of the theft, raided Anderson's home and found $50,000 worth of merchandise.
Anderson was released on personal recognizance after being arraigned and will appear in Superior Court at a later date.
